Cultural Capital at Holy Trinity
At Holy Trinity, we believe learning doesn’t stop at the classroom door. Our Cultural Capital Programme is all about giving students the knowledge, skills, and experiences they need to thrive in the real world.
It all began with our first Enrichment Week in 2021, a week of discovery, challenge, and fun that brought our whole school community together. Since then, we’ve expanded our vision, offering students exciting opportunities to grow in confidence, character, and life experience.

🌍 What is Cultural Capital?
Cultural Capital is the toolkit students build to help them understand and navigate the world around them. It includes:
- Real-world knowledge and awareness
- Confidence and independence
- Skills to challenge stereotypes and overcome barriers
- The ability to make informed choices about their future
At Holy Trinity, we want every student to flourish. That’s why we offer rich, meaningful, and lasting experiences that help them become confident, compassionate, and capable individuals.
⚙️ How It Works
All Cultural Capital activities take place over four dedicated days throughout the academic year. These days are carefully planned to ensure every student benefits from a wide range of enriching, real-world experiences.
💰Payment & Consent
All Cultural Capital trips are funded through voluntary contributions. While the school is unable to cover the full cost of these trips, we want to ensure that every child can participate. If you are experiencing financial difficulty, please contribute whatever you can.
Digital consent is mandatory for every trip and must be completed via the SCOPAY app. Your child will not be able to attend unless consent has been provided.
We are a paperless school and are unable to accept consent in any other format. If you experience any issues with the SCOPAY app, please contact tripsandevents@holytrinitycrawley.org.uk for assistance.

✈️ Key Stage 3: The Passport Programme
Our KS3 Passport gives students a wide range of experiences by the end of Year 9 – each one designed to support personal growth and reflect our school values: Dignity, Community, Wisdom, and Hope.
📋 What’s Included?
Over four dedicated days spread across the school year, students take part in a variety of trips and activities, such as:
- Hindu Temple visit – understanding faith and diversity
- Brighton Beach & Sea Life Centre – coastal environments and marine biology
- Portsmouth Historic Dockyards – naval history and engineering
- London Zoo – biodiversity and conservation
- London Dungeons – immersive historical storytelling
- Tower of London – royal history and British monarchy
Our HTS highlight is the Year 8 Residential, where students camp out and take part in outdoor and adventurous activities – building resilience, independence, and teamwork in a fun and memorable setting.
🎯 What to Expect
Across four themed days during the year, students will:
- Visit subject-relevant sites and institutions
- Hear from guest speakers in industry and academia
- Take part in hands-on workshops
- Visit a university to explore future pathways
This programme helps students connect their studies to the world beyond school – broadening horizons, building skills, and inspiring ambition.
🌟Key Stage 4: Curriculum Enhancement Programme
New for 2025, we’re launching our KS4 Curriculum Enhancement Programme, a chance for students to dive deeper into their GCSE option subjects through real-world application.
📅 Attendance
Attendance for our C.C. Day trips are compulsory, as these trips form part of the school curriculum. There will be no on-site provision for students in year groups scheduled to attend a trip.
Any absence from a C.C. Day trip will therefore be recorded as unauthorised.
If your family has a planned event or holiday during a C.C Day, an absence request must be submitted at least 10 days in advance. Please note that the absence can only be authorised if the circumstances meet the school’s criteria for authorised absence.
If your child is reluctant to attend due to emotional or other concerns, please contact the Trips & Events team or your child’s tutor. This will allow us to understand the reasons for their concerns and work with you and your child to provide appropriate support.
If your child is unwell on the day of the trip, please report their absence via the usual channels.
