Year 6-7 Transition
Welcome to Holy Trinity Church of England School
As a Church of England secondary school, we provide a caring, inclusive, and value driven environment where every student is encouraged to grow academically, socially, and spiritually. Our commitment to strong pastoral care and high-quality teaching ensures that each child feels supported and inspired to achieve their full potential.
Starting secondary school is an exciting and important step. At Holy Trinity, our dedicated staff work closely with students and families across Crawley and West Sussex to ensure a smooth transition and a positive start to school life.
From the very beginning, we help every student feel at home building confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning within our welcoming school community. Please watch the message from Rev. Millwood. Further down the page, you will find a summary of how we will support your family during this transition. As well as the booking form for our Summer School 2026
Welcome message from Rev. Millwood The Executive Headteacher
How do we support a smooth transition?
Visits before joining📍
To help equip parents and carers with the information and confidence needed for a smooth transition, we host an Information Evening ahead of our Transition Day, followed by a second session just before students begin their first day at HTS in September.
For the most up-to-date schedule, please refer to the letter from Rev. Millwood, our Executive Headteacher. This 2026 letter outlines all key dates and essential information to support your child’s transition to Year 7. We strongly encourage all parents and carers to read this carefully so you feel fully prepared for the start of secondary school. You can read this by clicking on the button below.
The SEN Team organises additional visits for students with special educational needs. If a parent feels their child would benefit from extra visits, these can be arranged by the Pastoral Team upon request.

Summer School ☀️
Each summer, Holy Trinity Church of England Secondary School proudly welcomes our incoming Year 7 students to our dynamic Summer School programme. Designed to spark curiosity, encourage teamwork, and build lasting friendships, the week offers a blend of exciting activities, creative challenges, and opportunities to explore our school environment. By the end of the programme, students feel confident, connected, and ready to begin their Holy Trinity journey with enthusiasm.

Year 7 Welcome Breakfast 🥞
This relaxed and friendly event provides the perfect opportunity to meet teachers, connect with other families, and share in the excitement of the school year ahead. It’s our way of ensuring that every child—and every parent—feels part of the Holy Trinity family from day one.
SEND Children 🤝
Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) team will be working closely with staff in the Primary School to plan the additional support needed for some of the children who will be joining us. If you are a parent of a child with SEND, please be assured that we have a well-established process to ensure your child’s needs are carefully planned for ahead of their arrival in September. For some children, this may also involve extra visits to the school during the summer term.
