Temporary Uniform Adjustment
Dear Parents/Carers,
In light of the current extreme heat and the weather warning in place this week, we are making some temporary adjustments to our uniform expectations to ensure students remain safe and comfortable while in school. We will continue to operate a normal school day throughout this period.
As advised by the Director of Education, and in line with Department for Education guidance, schools are expected to remain open during periods of hot weather. Attendance remains important, and school provides a supervised environment where students can stay hydrated and be supported if they begin to feel unwell. The guidance also recognises that schools may adapt uniform expectations to support students’ wellbeing during high temperatures.
Uniform Adjustments
Students may attend school wearing appropriate items from their PE kit, including:
- School PE T-shirt
- School PE shorts
- School PE trainers
Full details of acceptable PE kit can be found on our website here
Students are also encouraged to:
- Bring a refillable water bottle
- Wear sunscreen
- Wear a hat when outdoors
- Remove blazers and jumpers as needed
Important Reminder
Please note that non-uniform items are not permitted, even during this period of hot weather. This includes (but is not limited to):
- Crocs or open-toe footwear
- Cycling shorts or non-school shorts
- Any items not part of the approved school or PE kit
Students who arrive wearing inappropriate items will be required to return home to change into correct uniform.
We appreciate your support in helping us maintain high standards while ensuring the comfort and safety of all students during this period of extreme heat.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
Thank you for your continued support.
