A message from The Rev. Millwood

Just before the Easter holidays, Kevin, Sallie and I had the privilege of interviewing 17 of our Year 12 students who had applied to join the Head Team. It was a truly uplifting day and a pleasure to hear these students speak so warmly about their positive experiences at HTS, the value they place on the community they belong to, their appreciation for the staff who support them, and their desire to give something back through serving on the Head Team. They certainly made our decision-making very challenging. Nevertheless, after much careful deliberation, roles have now been allocated and I am delighted to introduce our new Head Team.

On the final day of term, I hosted a special breakfast for the outgoing Head Team to thank them for all they have given over the past year. They have worked incredibly hard and made a positive contribution in so many ways to the life of HTS. I feel immensely proud of them and know that, as they pass the baton of leadership to this new team, they leave behind a very high standard to follow. The new team joined us for the breakfast, providing an excellent opportunity to meet their counterparts in each area of responsibility and begin valuable handover conversations that will help ensure continuity in the months ahead.

There is a beautiful hymn, How Good Is the God We Adore, which includes the words: “We’ll praise Him for all that is past, and trust Him for all that’s to come.” I thank God for the service of our outgoing Head Team and look forward with great anticipation to seeing our new Head Team in action.
