We recently hosted our first Come and See Family Day, welcoming Year 5 students and their parents or guardians for a taste of secondary school life. The event gave families the opportunity to experience a typical secondary school day by taking part in a range of lessons across the school.

During the day, students designed and made their own bags using sewing machines in Textiles, baked Victoria sponge cakes in Food Technology, and carried out two different science experiments in the school’s laboratories. Creative Arts sessions and hands‑on iPad activities further enriched the varied and engaging programme.

The event fostered a strong sense of community and received extremely positive feedback from families. It provided Year 5 students with valuable first‑hand insight into secondary education, helping them to feel excited and confident about the next stage of their learning journey.
