Sixth Form Admissions
The Application Process for September 2026
To give a greater initial choice, we are giving you the flexibility to choose any combination of subjects before we have timetabled them.
Please ensure you have carefully read through the pages of the Sixth Form website and individual course guides before completing your online application; paying close attention to the individual subject entry criteria. Subject-specific entry requirements can be found on our website.
References will be called from your current school for all external applicants, and we ask you to submit a recent report.
Students who are predicted to achieve the entry criteria will be invited to interview in January/February, with conditional offers issued following this.
HTS Performing Arts Application
If you are applying to the Performing Arts Academy at HTS Sixth Form, you must complete both your HTS Sixth Form application and a separate Academy application, including an audition, via the Academy’s website.
Level 3 Entry Criteria
The Sixth Form entry criteria for Level 3 courses is 5x GCSE Grade 4, including English Language and Maths.
Most A Level subjects ask for a 5 in English Language, and all BTEC subjects ask for a 4. This refers to the different literacy requirements between the two qualification levels. Some subjects will have additional subject specific requirements.
Foundation Pathway
For students who do not meet our Level 3 entry criteria, we offer a foundation pathway which serves as a Foundation Year to Level 3. Admission to this pathway will be discussed on a case-by-case basis; please contact us for further details.
