Collective Worship
As a church school we are committed to providing a daily collective act of worship which is relevant, inclusive and which provides students with the opportunity to reflect. This takes place within the daily tutor time. This year our collective worship is built around six main themes and six sub-themes to reflect our approach to Equality and Diversity. These are as follows:
Autumn Term
First Half
Main theme: Deeply Christian; Open to all
Sub-theme: Race
Second Half
Main theme: Dignity (the knowledge of our ultimate worth as Human Beings)
Sub-theme: Religion/Belief
Spring term
First Half
Main Theme: Community – Living Well Together
Sub-theme: Sex/Gender
Second Half
Main theme: To be a centre for excellence, inspired by Christian values, where every person in our school community fulfils their potential
Sub-theme: Disability
Summer Term
First Half
Main theme: Wisdom – nurturing skills, knowledge, emotional intelligence, resilience, creativity
Sub-theme: Culture
Second Half
Main theme: Hope – embracing the future with confidence, and seeking to make a difference in the world
Sub-theme: Age
Assemblies are held weekly, led by members of the Senior Leadership Team, Year Leaders, Students, the Chaplain and invited guests.
