Leader of Learning Business & Computing

The Governors of Holy Trinity School wish to appoint a dynamic, forward-looking candidate
with successful 11-18 teaching experience to the post of Leader of Learning of Computing &
Business. This is a superb opportunity for an excellent teacher with some leadership experience
to progress their career and lead on the development of teaching of the range of subjects
within this area in a good school that is striving towards excellence. Applicants will need to
demonstrate: their commitment to the teaching Computing and/or Business and its associated
subjects; their leadership experience and potential for promoted responsibility; and how they
are qualified for the challenges of this key post. The successful candidate will be an
outstanding teacher with a proven record of managing all aspects of a diverse teaching team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Computing and/or Business lessons to students in Years 7-13,
    adhering to the national curriculum and exam specifications.
  • Evaluate the standards of the teaching across the Area of Learning and ensure an
    improvement in academic outcomes.
  • Assess and monitor students’ progress across the area and ensure steps are in place to drive
    improvement.
  • Ensure that the curriculum is fit for purpose, including developing it for future changes in the
    courses available.
  • Maintain and improve leadership and teaching within the area, including the line
    management of staff.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school community through extracurricular activities or
    pastoral support.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Strong subject knowledge of Computer Science and/or Business, with the ability to teach up
    to A Level.
  • Leadership experience that can demonstrate a positive impact on learning and achievement.
  • A passion for teaching and leadership, with a commitment to student progress and
    achievement.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills. Ideally including experience of
    line managing staff.
  • An understanding and appreciation of the school’s Christian ethos and values.
